Algiers Economic Development Foundation is proud to partner with Louisiana State Representative Gary Carter, Jr. to pilot the Algiers Career and Educational Development Program. This program intends to partner our Algiers business community with local youth to identify career pathways, stimulate the economy, and create lasting connections within our Algiers community.

Program Objectives
Develop individualized career and/or educational plans for participating high school seniors
Seek job placement, internship, and mentorship from the member companies of AEDF to the participating high school seniors
Explore enhanced educational and technical opportunities for participating high school seniors
Cover certain costs needed by the participating high school seniors to achieve their individualized career and/or educational plan
The Algiers Career and Educational Development Program is made possible by a $150,000 legislative appropriation to Algiers Economic Development Foundation for a pilot period of two years. AEDF will work to identify and secure additional philanthropic support and corporate funding in order to grow and sustain the program into the future.
